Avrokomi Zavitsanou is an architect whose work focuses on the theoretical and design exploration of space as a medium of memory, preservation, and cultural mediation. Her research addresses how architectural thinking engages with practices of care, informal preservation, and the management of cultural and environmental heritage under contemporary conditions shaped by technological transformation.
Her work examines spatial formations that emerge through curatorial practices, digital infrastructures, and experimental modes of cultural production. These investigations inform a research-driven approach to architecture that moves between architectural design, spatial theory, and the critical study of media, archives, and heritage practices.
Alongside her research activity, she teaches architectural design, theory, and design methodologies in schools of architecture and art. In parallel, she is engaged in architectural practice, exhibition and curatorial design, and cultural production, developing projects that explore expanded formats of architectural work beyond conventional professional boundaries.
She is the co-founder of Colour Greece (www.colourgreece.com), a creative studio that operates as a platform for architectural research, publishing, and cultural experimentation. Through books, digital applications, and site-specific projects, Colour Greece explores contemporary modes of spatial storytelling, public engagement, and cultural dissemination.
