Avrokomi Zavitsanou is an architect, art and antiquities conservator, researcher and educator based in Greece. She studied architecture at the Department of Architecture of the University of Thessaly, where she also completed her doctoral research. Her work spans from architectural design to cultural heritage mamagement and preservation, focusing on the interpretation of cultural environments through the integration of emerging digital tools and computational methodologies. Her research investigates the relationship between spatial memory, materiality, and technology, examining how advanced digital workflows can enhance our understanding of the built and cultural environment. She explores topics related to informal archives, algorithmic methods, and AI-based interpretation, aiming to integrate digital tools into architectural research and education. Her publications include a monograph and multiple articles and conference papers on digital heritage, architectural pedagogy, and experimental approaches to memory and preservation. She teaches and participates in research projects that address architectural design, heritage interpretation, and digital culture, exploring how computational tools can inform contemporary spatial practices.
She is the co-founder of Colour Greece (www.colourgreece.com), a creative studio that operates as a platform for architectural research, publishing, and cultural experimentation. Through books, digital applications, and site-specific projects, Colour Greece explores contemporary modes of spatial storytelling, public engagement, and cultural dissemination.
